How to Reset Your Microsoft 365 Password

 

Self-Service Password Reset (Recommended)

 

Most organizations—including yours—enable self-service password reset for Microsoft 365. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Password Reset Portal:

  2. Enter Your Account Information:

    • Type in your Microsoft 365 email address and follow the prompts.

  3. Verify Your Identity:

    • You’ll be asked to verify your identity using a code sent to your registered email or phone number.
  4. Reset Your Password:

    • Enter the code, then set a new password.
  5. Sign In:

    Use your new password to sign in to Microsoft 365.

If You’re Locked Out or Self-Service Isn’t Available


  • Contact Your IT Helpdesk: If you can’t reset your password yourself, reach out to your IT support team. They can reset your password and provide a temporary one. For example, your IT team at EAW Tech can assist directly.

  • Admin Reset: If you’re an admin, you can reset passwords for users in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Go to Users > Active users, select the user, and choose Reset password
